Mold Remediation

Mold can occur from slow leaks that go unnoticed such as rook leaks, water heater leaks and rusted plumbing, but can also be caused by sudden bursts of water such as a pipe break or toilet overflow. While there are hundreds of types of mold, most are very common and are not harmful to humans. There are, however, a few types of mold that can be a health hazard if found indoors. These are the types of mold you want to have removed immediately to prevent negative health effects.

Mold can sometimes be detected by smelling a musty smell or by seeing discoloration, small black specks, or white thread-like clusters or growths. If you experience any of these you might have a mold problem. The only way to truly verify if you have a mold problem is to have a specialist perform a mold test to determine the mold count and the types of mold present.

Check's Restoration has been in the mold remediation business for several years and has the most up-to-date equipment and training to remove mold from your home or business. We first contain the area to prevent cross-contamination. We then remove the contaminated materials if possible. The remaining materials will then be treated with a special anti-microbial solution to kill and prevent microbial growth. Then we sand down the surface of the affected materials and treat again. Once the solution is dry, the affected areas are sealed and encapsulated in order to prevent further microbial growth.

Once the remediation is complete, the containment is removed and repairs can begin.
